Yes I would also add chinna kannamma and poovEli to the list (Great, subdued performaces).

I saw later part of this movie on TV last week and Karthik's performance was quite impressive and the heroine who acted the wife's role looked pretty (what's the name?).

The portion of the movie I saw was above average as well (had they chopped off some of the villain scenes / fights etc, it would have been quite interesting).
