Idhukku ethukku lol AR Jazz and MSV Jazz are totally different (in case you have got the knack of it). Am a big fan of MSV's western numbers (and they mostly have the rock and roll style) and I have a seperate collection of those songs. Palinginaal oru maaligai ellaam thavazhurra vayasuleye kaettaachu When it comes to pushing the boundaries, it is AR and ONLY AR because he made a Rangeela, Hello Mr, Jane tu, Strawberry Kannae, jillunnu oru kaadhal or what ever the Jazz and various other stuff he created reach worldwide. I believe that being truthful to the genre is one of the qualifications an artist should have in order to get that recognition. Summa mixed masala ellaam kandukka maattaanga, local blog levelOda niRuthikka vaendiyathuthaan.

Even I like. I gave that as an example of a sample of 'exact' usage which I can recognize. (btw the original is a song called Frenesi..sameebathula oru Woody padam title-la kEttEn) Oh ! I have heard some of MSV's western numbers have got some direct influence of western flicks. As I said I am a huge fan of MSV's western numbers. In last years' Vijay Music awards, there was an excellent medley done by some of the contemparary PB singers, as a tribute to MSV. That was a one of the best live performances I have seen in recent times.
