glad that someone started a thread for this one.
He was making message movies one time - since paandavar bhoomi - started settling into making somewhat subtler and dignified films. The thing I like about his movies are the 'sentiments' . He does not make them like 'P Vasu' sentiment films, but more like 'Bheemsingh' school of sentiment films. The sentiments are the foundation and the realistic crafting of the characters and subtle portrayals play out while the focus is always on the 'foundation' and a touching climax. Even the mediocre maayakannadi had a somewhat touching climax - if you leave out the lenght sermon at the end. Vetri Kodi kattu too had the lengthy sermon at the end. I watched that one with my friend who had made it big in dubai and he enjoyed every bit of it. his movies are like Visu's Arattai Arangam while a lesser director would have made the very same subject as Vijaya TR's arattai arangam!!
