Well well ! It was grandly picturized. But best choreography ? The fire swingers (silambam) were not in tandem , you can see some of the silambams 'off'. The song had all the Madurai-Ramnad dance types brought in. It brought out cultural aspects never shown on screen before. But I would be reluctant to award synchronization points for it even though (or perhaps because) it was by best Tamil moviemaker who ever breathed air .

Prabhu, that was why I was hesitant at first to write my whole list. I suppose I wanted to take the word 'coreograph' to mean picturisation, not limiting to dance steps, but cinematography, etc.
I like Virumaandi form the very reasons you mentioned- the lack of German precision. The dancers look like what they are- festival dancers and not film dancers. The dude with the fireworks hair is a great touch (he also had a few seconds in Dhevar Maghan. IF I SEE HIM IN ONE MORE MOVIE, I'LL START A FAN CLUB FOR HIM). It looks chaotic, unplanned, wild, frenzied!
