I like semi-uplifting music. So Van Halen is a favorite. But if a band has the 'scary' image accompanied by lyrics that I don't agree with, then that's a turn-off.

Also, I hate bands that are all about religion (Christian 'rock' bands). I'm an Atheist, so the last thing I want to hear on my speakers is "God is good, blaH, blaH, blaH". Because I don't agree wth the message or what the band stands for.
