He also wears many hats like writer, music composer, editor, cinematographer and art director. He also had a brief political stint. His son, Silambarasan is also making waves in the industry. TR, as he is popularly called, celebrated his birthday with his family and well-wishers yesterday. His fans organized blood donation camps. Speaking on the occasion, he raised the familiar bogey of outsiders undermining Tamil sensibilities. He quoted the recent Thankar and Kushboo controversies. He accused Vijayakanth of double standards and said that Vijayakanth promptly acted to extract an apology from Thankar while he did not even lodge a token protest for Kushboo’s reported comments.
