Goodpoint Iyya.
Mr. Shankar probably can not do 0.00001% of the service done by Mr. Nehru toIndia and still talks ill of Mr. Nehru.
There is absolutely no comparison between those two. Comparing a hill to the Himalayas. At the hill level, you would be competing with him in stature unless you wean away from obsessing about Mr.Shankar and his idiosyncracies.

In America they talk reverently of their leaders, In India a life time of selflessservice is ignored by people like Mr. Shankar Narayan. It is digrace.
You haven’t read the reports about how the TSA (Transport Security Agency) in USA treated Edward Kennedy or Henry Kissinger or Al Gore ( just to name a few of the “revered” leaders of America) at the airport security check point. In America there is no sacred cow, they don’t “revere” their leaders. They also don’t believe that a revered leader’s family should have a perpetual hold or eternal proprietary entitlement to leadership. Selfless service from Nehru and Indira Gandhi, yes agreed, but that kind of selflessness is not a genetic trait that gets passed on within the same family from generation to generation for eternity, to give rise to a virtual super-super-caste of one and the same family

I think this is probably the message your “Mr. Shankar” is trying to get across, albeit in an uncouth, unrefined way. Nevertheless, it does not hurt to offer him the courtesy of being addressed as “Sir” or “Ji” . That is what we in India do.
