The unfortunate part of the children born abroad is that they do not know anyone except their parents,parents sisters and brothers and their families ,maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents. Please do not generalize on the basis of your personal experience. Children in my family enjoy extended family and we visit India every other year.
I think the PIO's maintain the culture more.
