I have a diffrent take on the sorry state of affairs in Indian Temples.
God IS NOT THE HOSTAGE. We the foolish devotee's are paying ransome for no reason.
If you really know, you do not have to look for God in the Temples. If the devotees get wiser ande refuse to pay the ransom, this artificial scarcity will vanish.
We do not have the patience to wait, so we have to pay the ransom.
