My friend I believe I am going to have to send an email to someone in south asian studies at the university. This topic has really captivated me. I always thought the great Tamil hardship was primarily the wars in Sri Lanka so this is fascinating to me to learn this rich (albeit sad) history many people just have no clue about this stuff on the global level.

Please do. Please ensure that the *someone* being a scholar in south asian studies and his/her scholarship is independent of the patronage of the dravidian parties and the reference resources are neutral.

But the funny thing is his memories is being sought to be kept alive in this forum whereas the rest of the tamil population have moved on.
