I agree with what Shri N_M mentioned in his post 8. It is a pity that some family doctors are not accepting that he has not updated his knowledge. Some times they diagnose a simple fever with the dengue or malaria (if it prevails in that area). One thing I do not understand is that we observe fasting to satisfy the god or to satisfy our mind. Is any god compel us to observe fasting? In mumbai I have observed that people who say they do fasting are consuming puva (aval) upma or javvarisi upma during lunch time and they say it is exempted. Whether taking juice is prhibited during fasting? I do agree that observing fasting is good for health.
