Buddhism, as it is originated from Hinduism has the "fundamental" philosophies with "Scientific proof" of cosmos and the cosmic energy. I have had conversation with one of the Highly Ranked Bikku (Sadhu) of "London Buddha vihara". They have managed to keep all the rituals we (Hindus) do with a slightly modified versions. Such rituals

Similar Rituals

1) Death or Funeral ceremonies are conducted on the first day of the incident, followed by the 7th day, 31st day and annual rituals

2) Pournami is celebrated as "poya"

3) Birth Ceremonies are also conducted in a similar fashion!

However there were some differences

1) A Bikku / Priest does not attend weddings to conduct Rituals, rather the couple seeks their blessing prior to the wedding. But in Hindu weddings a priest is a must!

2) Any one can become a Bikku (Man/Women) as long as they keep away from their material attachment and emotional bondage!

But in Hinduism to be come a Brahmin, you have to be born in such Family!
