This is a special song as it specifically marks the contribution of stage plays to early thamizh cinema. This song has roots in "Natya sangeeth" tradition of marathi stage which influenced Swami Sankaradas..
A small clue as to "Natya sangeeth" tradition - please get Pandit BhimSen joshi's hindustani albums covering this genre... - simply songs used in stage plays.
The song I have quoted - sung by T.R.Mahalingam is an evergreen song that hints at the root of our TFM's evolution. A classic in every way possible.
