Rahman's got competition at home
Nephew beats the master composer at his own game

Believe it or not, AR Rahman has got competition from within his family. The master composer has been beaten at his own game by his nephew GV Prakash. Tamil film Kireedam, for which Prakash has composed the music, is topping the charts in Tamil Nadu. The album has become a huge rage amongst youngsters beating Rahman's Sivaji, which ranks number three.

A close second is Yuvan Shankar Raja's Satham Podaathay, which boasts of an impressive line-up of singers. With Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghosal and Sudha Raghunathan lending their voices to Raja's tunes, this album is disappearing off the shelves just as quickly.

Jeeva's demise has renewed interest in Unnale Unnale and has catapulted the film's music to number four.

But the album to look out for seems to be Yuvan Shankar Raja's Chennai 600028. The young, peppy tracks are soon catching the fancy of the youth.

The top five albums in Tamil Nadu are:

1. Kireedam by GV Prakash
2. Satham Podaathay by Yuvan Shankar Raja
3. Sivaji by AR Rahman
4. Unnale Unnale by Harris Jayaraj
5. Chennai 600028 by Yuvan Shankar Raja
