ammaiyaare,in our +2 syllabi,we have appreciation of poetry in tamizh-2 q paper.ther we have to highlight:

1.sol nayam:good and unique usage of aesthetic words or phrases and also ilakkana pizhai which if poets write vazhu amaidhi.

2.porul nayam:any (excellent) double meaning words and inner meanings of passages,repetitions,etc.also if the poet had said a universal thought,valid still today or any recent poet retold the old view,etcetera.

3.(not kiran)thodai nayam:the various figures of speech such as simile,metaphor,pun,rhetory,irony,onomotophia,alli teration(ethugai/monai),rhyme,etcetera.

4.karpanai nayam:the way he completely views in the perspective of imagery.

5.ani nayam:the featuring "ani"as prescribed by tholkaappiar.

6.sandha nayam or osai nayam:no comments.

some of today's songs abides by all this though not written in the marabu form of poetry and sound good too.i perhaps feel beside discussing we can also post in some very good songs of the present generation and the akku bera aani vera pesalam.O.K?
