How you know? Maybe Chen doesnt want a CEC post. Did you talk to him?
" Political service is a calling; it is a privilege accorded by the electorate to serve the largest number of our fellow Singaporeans. It is primarily a privilege, not primarily a burden or sacrifice. The principle of political service should come first and not be treated as a discount factor," Chen Show Mao.

Chen Show Mao was elected into the WP CEC with the largest number of cadre 'electorate' votes according to report. Yet he defied the wishes of Party 'electorates' to be given the 'privilege' of a CEC post ? Where is his political 'calling' ? Is he treating the CEC post as a 'burden or sacrifice' ?

It seems that, for Chen, the principal service does not come first and is being treated as a discount factor.
