SG is resource scarce and has to import almost everything from food, water, oil to raw materials. It takes less to feed 3m people than 5m people. With a population of 5+m now, SG has to look further away for its imports. The traditional sources from Malaysia, Thailand, China and indonesia are not enough. We need to go to far away countries like Argentina, Europe for basic necessities. How can it not cost more to the average Singaporean? A spainish hami melon which sells for 1.5 british pound in London costs S$8 in SG. How can the huge influx of foreigners not affect the cost of living of the average Singaporean?

The pap must reconcile this and not continue to live in denial.
