When he was asked for a brief history, i was expecting it to be, you know, brief.... Couldn't stand listening to it anymore so off it went.

Yeah tell me about it lol.... perhaps Derrick should have said "Brief / short / concise / succinct / to the point / pithy / epigrammatic". Maybe Palmer would understand / appreciate / recognize / comprehend / realise this better.
