Who say I want Buddhist to run the country. Non Buddhist also can run a country base on:-

No Needy and No crime
To Be a rich country
To Be Peace and Strong Police and Military country
To Be wise government and wise multi-religions scholar Leader
To Be Middle Way Democracy, Unhappy people cannot damage, steal, cheat, kill and crime other people property and authority government staff cannot damage, steal, cheat, kill and crime other people property. Peaceful solve problem.
