Yes, the Christians esp from those mega churches sadly do subscribe to a belief that are totally similar to folklore Taoist beliefs. They pray for tangible results and one even said going to her church on sunday will help her win toto. One cousin was attract to a mega church when her collegues told her that after praying, she saw gold dust in her hands. These christian groups uses these to convert people, esp the chinese very easily.

I think this is a typical chinese mindset when it comes to religion. Yes, there are true believers who adhered to strict Christian, Taoist or buddhist beliefs but the mainstream take religion as just as a blessing for good fortune and quick luck. This also explain why the chinese believers in Islam here is very negligible as Islam emphasis and sacrifices more for the beliefs than reaping immediate good fortune and profane luck.
