hi FB, I read your numerous recent posts on this thread and i must admit that when I first read all these passages many years back, I did feel uncomfortable that God would do this sort of thing.
But later on i did feel that while God is loving, compassionate and forgiving He does have to punish sins. These incidents show punishment.

I would offer that if God were not loving and merciful, all of us would already have been condemned for our sins and would be dead.

I cannot explain each and every incident to you or anyone else because of my limited understanding but again this is where the faith comes in.

I do believe that despite what has happened the bigger picture is that God acted in mercy

I know its difficult for us to agree on this but again i say, let us respect one another's beliefs.
