Together they can speak out whenever and wherever abuses occur, whether it be their own religion or government or someone else's that is the oppressor or the victim.

This appears to be the concluding point of Esposito's worthy article.

But in the case of the firebombing of 7 Malaysian churches by some Muslims, it appears that those other Muslims who spoke against such actions have their words unheeded.

The question remains as always: You can speak, but Who listens?
