Why not?

War is an agent of rapid change and has greatly advanced human technology along with social development. The people are replaced, the infrastructure upgraded (note the rapid post-WWII growth of Germany and Japan as well as the US) and progress goes on.

War is the perfect test of society and ideology. Let's test Islam against civilization. If the Muslims are right then they will win, if not they will lose, and either way the losing party will by their failure richly deserve their fate.
