But in order to win a war against terrorism, we need to fight terrorism, not just terrorism committed by Muslims, but terrorism by the Chinese and the Mexicans and anyone else who terrorizes the innocent.

We do. Many groups are on US watch-list including the Farc and many others.

The war on terrorism is used as an excuse by totalitarian nations to squelch dissent in its name. Thus, the Tibetan protesters become terrorists and ecologists become terrorists and anti-global anything become terrorists and we sweep our issues under the rug in the name of this war.

? Are you talking about the Chinese?

Islamfac spoke of cutting the excuses off at the knees. I'd like to see the day when Islamic extremists had very little to point at in terms of our own crimes against humanity. I give kudos to those who have made efforts in that direction and there are many. It isn't the fact that an Abu Graib type incident happens, but how it is handled after it is exposed.

It was exposed and was handled in a very civilized way - we still can't forget it. In fact it was mild of what totalitarian regimes do.
