Default U.S. Aborted Raid on al-Qaida in 2005
Don't really have a clue why it is so important to keep Pakistan as an 'ally' since in reality the Pakis are providing a base of operations, funding, and intel for a wide variety of terrorist organizations hell-bent on attacking Western targets along with perceived 'Zionist/Western collaborators' within and outside Pakistani borders.

Musharaff/ISI/etc. only pay lip-service to actually fighting what these twits view as 'terrorists' or rather threats to their regime holding on to power.

The supposed 'siege' on the Red mosque in Islamabad recently just goes to show to what extent Musharaff is in bed with the fanatics which the Taliban only constitute a small percentage of.

Not going on a conspiracy tangent here, but these aborted missions to hit al-qaida, did they have anything to do with the plans of the US to implement their plan to lining their pockets with an ongoing global war on terror?

When the US (re-)started their war in Afghanistan, the US allegedly had plenty of opportunities to corner Zawahri and Bin Laden then and there. So how is this anything new?

Seems to be more and more likely that the US administration has the need to have an ever-present and looming threat from Islamic terrorist groups/organizations against the US to bolster contracts in the weapons industry, energy/telecommunications sector, and justify excessive defense budgets at the expense of US lives, both military/navy/airforce and civs.

The present US administration (and some in the past) doesn't really have plans to solve this situation any time soon in addition to directly identifying the actual 'evil doers', rather choosing to stick to generalities.
