Why so natural a thing looks so extraordinary - no idea.
The birds of the feather flock together (though they might occasionally fight for the last worm). Greens, Nazis, commies, Labor, fascist, Baath, Swedish diplomats and chardonnay intelligencia - they are all socialist and always will have more commonality than difference. Of course they all gravitate to one another. This is the plague of the XX century which is now happily taking over Century XXI.
Moslems by the way are very socialist by nature.
