I'm glad they had the courage to impose a custodial sentence. I was a little concerned that he'd get off with a fine. I don't know all the ins and outs of this case but someone did die - although it's hard to tell if the death has been solely attributed to Ahmed. Apparently, the man who died had crashed into the central reservation of the motorway and was partly in the fast lane. Even though I've read a couple of articles, I can't quite figure out if Ahmed was jailed for hitting the car or texting....all they say is that there was no causal link between the texting and the accident. It seems a muddled account to me.
