The Brits will do squat. This is their Embassy 444 days in captivity saga. Blair is weak, he won't do anything and the Iranians will gamble that his replacement will be more conciliatory. They made the mistake that Reagan would let them walk all over them and it was the biggest deep strategy mistake they made. Similarly they are making a strategic blunder not because of what Blair will or won't do but because it will leave Iran in a more isolated position and strategically weaker than before.
