That is, unfortunately, true. The would be considered cultural heritage objects first and become tourist attractions later.

I am dying to see some sample returns from Mars. "In 1970, the Soviet Union planned for a 1975 first Martian sample return mission in the Mars 5NM project". It's taking a long time.
