If you had caught polio as a child, and many of your generation did, you might be singing a different tune.

But he was vaccinated, when he went to school, and apparently, not autistic (what are the chances?).

Frankly, my reading of his story leads me to believe he wasn't in a happy place, during the first marriage, which coloured his experiences. Both sets of children got colds (which have nothing to do with general childhood vaccinations), yet in the first set it was some big drama and the second just "mild colds".
