Default Whether it is Lord Vishnu adopted buddhism or buddhist adopted Vishnu?
In the Musem of Pathna, India, there is a most ancient image of Avalokitesvara (about 1-st century C.E.). Anyone can easily see it bears the finery and attributes of hinduistic Lord Vishnu. So, there is the question, how did it happen Vishnu became one of the grand buddhist dieties?

Does it mean that mahayana buddhist of some later stage became so "spacious" in their minds so they put Vishnu back on the pedestal? Then I spotted meny palces in vajrayana tantras where varoius emanations of Vishu also mentioned. And I wonder, whether it is Lord Vishnu adopted buddhism or buddhist adopted Vishnu?
