I agree with her that we need to try and end the physical suffering of people as well as I'm sure Eckhart Tolle does. I think she may misunderstand the idea of surrendering to the present moment. It doesn't mean you accept things as they are and therefore make no attempt to change the world. Just because you accept things as they are in the present moment does not mean you cannot try to change what is wrong with the world. Thich Nhat Hanh (an enlightened monk) had ideas for world peace which caused Martin Luther King Jr. to nominate him for a nobel peace prize.
