The Buddha himself enjoyed having sex during the first 29 years of his life and he got enlightened afterwards!

The Buddha spent 6 years as a celibate renunciate before he became enlightened. The Buddha also made the rules about celibacy for monks and nuns.

I ve asked myself the same question many times, why monks are not allowed to have sex??!!

Why would one want to be a monk if one was having sex ? - its a contradiction.
