If there is no afterlife, there is almost no point.
I would suggest that if there is no after-life then there is no point. It is the sense of favorable rebirth/sin that creates a sense of morality. So behaving well can depend on hope or fear depending on ones tradition
Yes, rebirth is certainly a morality teaching - but friends of mine who are not Buddhists but who are atheists and don't accept any kind of religious beliefs are extremely moral, so I don't see your point.
