Greetings Andy,

Well of course, you may do as you please, but the fact that two traditions "share a common set of fundamental understandings" is in itself no more convincing as an argument for "truth" than that Christianity and Catholicism "share a common set of fundamental understandings".

Speaking for myself, my refuge lies with the Buddha, his Dhamma, and the noble Sangha... not with any "tradition" or sect. Of course, each to their own.
