Unlike Deshy's experience I have not found this emphasis in the talks and instructions and have come to see that instruction on concepts such as rebirth and morality in my chosen tradition are a way of getting us to the core concepts.

Well, to be frank I have been well instructed from monks and teachers of the thai forst tradition. Cross referencing with the suttas I don't find any conflicts. Everything else I have listened to so far, and I have listened to a lot comming from a Buddhist Asian country, have been delusive and misleading.
