In Zen, actually, we say the [translated] text is not that important. The meaning is in reciting it. Perfectly logical, isn't it?
Well not for me in this particular case, because I don't happen to recognise the Heart Sutra as a significant text which is the actual words of the Buddha - and in fact the quality of the translation of anything I want to read is important. As for recitation, if one is reciting gobbledegook, then its not going to be of lasting benefit, whatever one's beliefs to the contrary.

..but hey, that's only my humble and very insignificant opinion !
