sounds like Santi Forest Monastery may become a bhikkhuni monastery. before the property became 'Santi Forest Monastery', it was a dhamma centre for women, owned by the now Bhikkhuni Nirodha
I would love Santi to remain as a residence for bhikkhunis. It has always been my intention that the building work we have done here will, in the long term, be for the bhikkhunis. I have been open to the idea that there may be a continuing presence of monks here, but this has been very much secondary. Santi Forest Monastery is one of the few English-speaking monasteries in the world where women can be ordained and trained as a bhikkhuni. The community at Santi is a mixed one, where the male and female residents have separate facilities and dwelling areas, but come together for meals, teachings and work. ****
