I am really finding that term " disjoined " is capturing the nature of how it is - in seeing how inherently unreliable being joined to our feelings is, the longing then becomes for spiritual freedom, being " disjoined ". The use of this word also gives recognition, to me, that this movement towards freedom is an inward task which is most easily accomplished when we distance ourselves from the outer circumstances rather than nourish our unwholesome tendency to want to be joined to the pleasant, right here, right now
