Set a Thief to Catch a Thief
The odour of dirty socks can be used to lure mosquitoes into a deadly trap before they can spread malaria, a US and Canadian-funded researcher based in Africa said on Wednesday. Dr. Fredros Okumu, of the Ifakara Health Institute in Tanzania, discovered through an experiment that mosquitoes were more
attracted to the odour of filthy feet
than to
live humans sleeping in the same area.
Rather confusing this report. It gives me the impression that the
filthy feet
did not belong to the
live humans sleeping in the area.
Have the filthy feet distanced themselves from the living human beings? More important is, it’s an interesting way to fight malaria.
