Yes, Marianthy, I understand completely. I too pray when I am working on my tapestry. It is the same as those who paint icons - they pray as they are creating. We do the same.

I rarely am content with the recommended DMC threads . I try and match my colours - beautiful colours that are God's creation and one of the delights of embroidery - and try and create something that is only mine. As beautiful as the colours of the threads are, they are nothing compared to the colours of nature. I have a wonderful view from my verandahs and looking at the sky sometimes I am overwhelmed by the beauty of the various colours and combinations of colours that decorators would not think of using together. Observing nature makes us aware of how awesome all of God's works are.

In embroidery, faces and flesh colours give me the most trouble and I really wish that DMC would broaden their colour range of these threads.
