if you want something decent and cheap i would suggest htc inspire, it is a couple years old but it is free with 2 year contract at at&t.
I use it for tons of stuff including playing videos (avi and mkv) and games and stuff. it has a nice large screen and 8gb built in storage (plus I have a 32gb microsd card in mine to give me lost of storage for anime and classic doctor who episodes)

not sure what to suggest on the tmobile network tho.
