Um from my standpoint, one of a programmer I strongly disagree. Vista likes to throw up barriers that impede me in every move, I run a virtual machine inside it and thats that.

Ditto actually. But mine's for work.

If you can, just upgrade to Windows 7. To be honest, I don't like it as much as XP, but it'll actually feel like an upgrade compared to a nerfing like Vista is.
