Light workers are attractive to the universe be that what may be. I see it as people walking around with their light beam sent out from them, being a spiritual person you may have seen the 'glow' of another spiritual person yourself so is a way to understand this.
I remind my son who is interested in his spiritual side but not completely that his light is on and to keep it close to himself when he needs or learn about it more. It goes along with the on and off of your work with spirit.
For me I work with my Guide at al times and he is my best help with the on off so I feel protected at all times. You seem to have that with your Guide so as you said you felt no fear. Before I worked with my guide I had a few issuse due to me being trusting as you seem with that animal.
Remember there is positive and negative in all things this is part of ballance and is fine, you choose the best way for that ballance not them (the energies around you), also part of this is seeing through to the truth and learning to know the difference wether its in life or the spiritual world. Having a strong Guide support is good.

It may have been due to the crystal (I used to know them well but forget) but do always know what energies you are working with and that is was cleansed to work with you before you start.
You didnt say if you have had this sort of issue in other meditation to answer that question. If it was just this one then again check the above with that cyrstal and try meditating with somethign like rose quartz to see if there is a difference to your meditation.

For the last part of what you wrote I say personally I have learnt much from my negative experiences...and the main thing is just that 'learn' and that doesnt mean repeat so try again but when you do your next meditation take only love thoughts in with you and see how it goes. Let love into all areas and no fear will continue.
