My advice would be to try meditation. It helps to calm and focus the mind allowing you to discover where your interests truly lie. It needn’t be a serious mediation. Sometimes just sitting in a quiet place and counting your breaths is all that is needed on a regular bases in order to be more focused.

As for 'feeling' other people's energy. You sound like an Empath to me. It can be good or it can be bad depending on how you manage to cope with it. I had to learn to ground myself and choose my social situations more carefully.

As for pushing it away. I did this for such a long time and it made me ill. Try to go with the flow of your natural energy and accept that whatever comes to you is for your own good and wellbeing. If you are particularly uncomfortable with something simply 'ask' it to give you some time to work things out. Be strong and stay above the battles.
