thanks, oom and mecca, for your insight and your warm, encouraging words! i didn't know most of what you told me, so i'm very grateful for your input. i'm so excited about this. i'm going to follow your suggestions and hopefully this will continue and even progress (at its own pace...). it's pretty ironic that my regular vision is bad - i'm useless without my lenses
