Certainly, HUD is basically public housing and most welfare/disability (dole to the English) recipients get this type of low rent, low prestigue housing. And vocational rehab is supposed to be a "training facility" for disabled people and it's just an awful experience. You may have something like like this in the UK but the problem with the area of America I live in (which is Southwestern Virginia) it's not a very economically prosperous place and little resources for anyone, much less someone with a mild disability.
