I think it is also a cultural thing as well. I know most cultures have their beliefs of spirits but some have more than others. Also, it seems that countries that are more westernised believe less in spirits. I worked with a man from nepal who was telling me that the 10th floor in the building we were working in was haunted. He was a security guard and all the security guards were from nepal. He said that none of the english people would go to the 10th floor unless others were there because they were frightened but all the men from nepal would go up. They believed it was haunted but didn't see any reason to be afraid of ghosts. He really thought it was rediculous to be afraid of spirits. So I guess it is how you're raised as well. Maybe if you'e raised to not believe in spirits you might be afraid of them because you dont understand the feelings.
