Default Memories of "flying"
Normally I would think I was crazy, but I have actually spoken to a few people who have memories of flying or floating as a child. I was speaking about it with a couple of friends of mine and we could all remember when it happened and actually believed that we either flew or floated until a certain age where we then assumed it was a dream we had.
Now, I'm not saying that when I was a child I could fly but I wanted to know if anyone else has had memories like this and what do you think causes them.
My memory was when I was little I would always jump down the basement steps at my grandmothers (obviously a fairly small set of steps lol) and I be trying to fly. Then one day I caught in the air and slowly floated to the floor at the bottom of the stairs. I can remember it to this day as if it were real.
My friends memories were similar. They were either jumping or about to fall off of something when they simply caught in the air and floated to the ground.
What do you think is the cause of these memories? I don't tend to get dreams and reality confused, even when I was a child. Or do you think that floating is possible?
Once thing that does confuse me more is a genuine memory. My grandmother had, what we thought was a mouse in her house. I went on a search for it and found it done day in her kitchen. I remember screaming and then I remember being on a chair on the other side of the room with my grandmother standing in the doorway, almost in tears demanding to know how I got to the chair from where I was standing. And the giant rat I saw that made me scream... was the tiniest little mole

I just thought it might be an interesting topic. Like I said, usually I would think I was imagining it all but others have said that they have these memories too.
