I would think that if you feel like it was a message then it probably is Taki.

I've also had many dreams where I died in them. One also involved dying in a car wreck. I then found myself by a pond of water with a man in white standing across the pond from me. He told me that it wasn't my time to go and gave me 3 gifts from the pond.
